Course Overview

Entrepreneurship and Real Estate are two of the hottest topics in business today. The MIT Entrepreneurship Center and the MIT Center for Real Estate are world renown in their fields. These two world class Centers have joined forces to offer a special summer seminar designed to spotlight innovations in entrepreneurship in the real estate industry.  While the real estate industry is recognized as being full of entrepreneurs, the role of innovation in the industry is less well understood.  Innovations in real estate finance, service delivery, and development will be the focus of the course.  What lessons can be transferred from MIT’s long history of entrepreneurship in technology and applied to real estate?   How can innovation be encouraged in the real estate industry?  What are some examples of real estate innovations?  Bill Aulet, Senior Lecturer and Entrepreneur in Residence from the MIT Entrepreneurship Center and a successful serial entrepreneur himself, will examine entrepreneurship and its role in the real estate industry using lectures, class projects and case studies.

The course is targeted to real estate professionals who have significant experience in the industry and can apply the concepts presented in the class to their experience.
